Places to Work."Overview: The CNM ensures the delivery of quality
patient care to a defined group of patients; maintains staffing at
an appropriate level; assures adequate skills and abilities to meet
patient problems; maintains financial control of unit; collaborates
and maintains open communication with medical staff,
administration, and staff; monitors appropriate utilization of
resources in the provision of care; assures regulations and
standards are met. The CNM is responsible for the quality of care
of patients; delegates appropriately and directs staff in the
delivery of care; assumes responsibility for the appropriate
utilization of resources; collaborates with medical staff and
others in the provision of care; demonstrates positive
interpersonal relationships with others in communication and
problem resolution; is sensitive to the needs of patients,
families, and fellow co-workers; plan and provide professional
nursing care for patients in accordance with age specific needs;
plans and provide professional nursing care for patients in
accordance with any identified cultural diversity needs, (such as
religions, lifestyles, beliefs, physical capabilities and
cultures); plan and provide professional nursing care for patients
by assuring appropriate and effective pain management; assess,
report, and assist any patients that present with evidence of abuse
and/or neglect; and supports the mission of Mercy Hospital.
Participates on nursing committees as assigned. Accountable for
assigned units. Co-workers are expected to abide by Mercy Hospital
safety and infection control policies to maintain a safe
environment for patients and co-workers. Supervises. All staff
assigned to unit. NOTE: Orientation and training are experience
specific. Competent to provide nursing services to the age of the
specific population of assigned areas. See Age-Appropriate Care for
Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric Patients
policy. Current CPR Certification is a required element to maintain
the job position. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner
