Job Description:
How You Will Make an ImpactThis position will work with the EHS
Manager and Leadership team at the Reading manufacturing plant to
aid in the development and implementation of policies, documents
and tasks associated with OSHA, EPA and Industrial Hygiene
practices or regulations. This position will interface with
managers as well as team members on the production floor to ensure
that employees are following all company policies and provide
guidance as needed on best practices to ensure the safety of team
members and provide administrative and management support for the
EHS department. - -The Nuts and BoltsAssist in the investigation
process for accidents and injuries including the identification of
root cause and necessary corrective action to prevent
reoccurrenceMaintain Compliance database including entering
compliance-required information into a database as well as
completing compliance-related EHS tasksAssist with analyzing and
summarizing key metrics to support reporting about EHS
performanceAssist to develop, implement, and communicate safety
procedures, policies, and training as necessaryParticipate in
Safety audits and assessments to identify safety deficiencies as
well as other OSHA regulations -Assist with the preparation and/or
distribution of Safety related communications and/or
postingsCollaborate with employees to understand problems, and
issues, and obtain suggested alternativesAssist in scheduling 3rd
party vendors and contractors for on-site training and assist with
providing trainingAssist in determining proper PPE and partner with
purchasing to ensure equipment is available when needed for
employees throughout the facility, complete and document PPE
assessments per OSHA standardsParticipate in the development of
Training materials, conduct training when applicable, and maintain
the training database for tracking compliance and
participationOversee the development and continuous improvement of
New Hire safety orientationParticipate in the monthly safety
meetings and monthly safety training as requiredCoordinate files
for review by regulators for compliance and auditors for
inspectionsSupport the EHS Manager with files and recordkeeping on
a daily, weekly, and monthly basis - - -Required
CredentialsRequired - Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as
Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Environmental
EngineeringMust have working and fundamental knowledge of OSHA
standards, EPA waste regulations and relevant manufacturing
environment Safety standards under OSHA and NFPAExperience with MS
Office required proficiency in ExcelDemonstrated skills in database
management and comfortable working on a computerSome Sedentary work
in an office with a focus on presence in and around the production
floor. -Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment
