Job Summary:

As a Medical Surgical Patient Care Technician at Hillcrest Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care. Your duties will include assisting patients with daily activities, observing their progress, and preparing reports for the nursing and medical staff. You will also obtain and record patients' vital signs, collect specimens for lab tests, and provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties. If you have a high school diploma or GED, Basic Life Support certification, and are competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice, we encourage you to apply for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observe patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assist patients with range of motion, and draw blood.
  Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function).
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
    • Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
