Job Description:
Med Surg Overview: -Mercy Fort Smith's Med Surg Service Line is
made up of 7 specialty units that will provide experience with
patient populations with a varying range of diagnoses and care
needs. - Functionally, these units house and care for patients who
are preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical
interventions. - While you will have a "home unit", we cross-train
our nurses between the various specialties to provide a strong
foundational knowledge of all types of patient conditions,
comorbidities, procedures, etc. - Whether you are a new grad nurse
looking to build a strong base before launching into your future
career/educational plans or an experienced nurse who enjoys variety
in their every day work, Med Surg is the place for you! -Ortho Unit
Details: -
- Patient Population: close monitoring and nursing care for
patients who have orthopedic anomalies or trauma, specifically
those patients undergoing total hips, total knees, traumatic
injuries/broken bones. Also those patients with
neurological/neurosurgical diagnosis
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 6:1
- # of Beds: 18
- UAP to patient ratio: 9:1
- Great unit for a new grad who is hesitant to jump into higher
acuity!Incentives:

LPNQualifications:
- Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's
Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and
maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or
compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must
meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Certifications:Must have American Heart Association Healthcare
Provider card or complete a course within probationary period. Must
have ACLS and BLS or obtain within 90 days of hire. -We Offer Great
