Apply today!About the roleResponsibilities:

  • Assist the Operations Manager with overseeing all areas of plant operations and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Reworld's policies and applicable laws.
  • Conducting personal and group technical training as required and maintaining the training records of the plant personnel.
  • Oversight and updating of the operator logs, SOP's, P&ID's, training programs, and implementing new processes for data collection and tracking utilizing the new technologies available. Enforcing strict compliance to the proper completion of logs and check sheets.
  • Provide relief for the Shift Supervisors during short term absence as required, inclusive of vacation coverage as needed. When in relief for Shift Supervisor, the Operations Supervisor (OS) will review, prioritize, and direct the daily work activities for the shift.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to ensure repairs are scheduled appropriately and ensures that equipment is prepared for repairs in accordance with the maintenance plan.
  • Act as a project manager to ensure the successful execution of various small capital and long-term maintenance tasks
  • Participating in daily / monthly meetings with the Shift Supervisors and facility management staff.
  • Coordinating day to day activities and directly supervising the day shift operations employees. This includes appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employee performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for the reliable operation of the Water Treatment Plant including pre-treatment, circulating water system, boiler water system and waste water systems.
  • Manage the facility labor support contractors to ensure cleanliness of the facility is maintained. Implement a standard work process to establish consistency in the crew's routine. Ensure performance meets or exceeds expectations.
  • During emergency or unusual situations, shall direct or if necessary, personally perform the required operations or corrective actions as well as coordinating the activities of all personnel involved.
  • Standing in for the Operations Manager in his/her absence.
  • Serve as emergency coordinator in the absence of the Facility/Department Managers.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Operations Manager/Plant Management.Position Requirements:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
    • Broad background in plant operations, including at least 3 years' experience in power or resource recovery plant operations required.
    • Hands-on and/or supervisory experience working with high pressure boilers and electric generation equipment required.
    • ASME QRO Provisional Operator Certification (License) required; must be able to become certified within 6 months of hire.
    • Ability to motivate employees and maintain high morale.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general administrative periodicals, technical procedures and regulations.
    • Ability to write reports and correspondence as well as effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and subordinates.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
    • Experience with Microsoft office applications, to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Ability to take appropriate safe action on his/her own initiative to prevent equipment damage or injury to personnel during emergencies or unusual situations.Physical Demand of the Role:
      • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
      • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
      • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
      • Able to medically qualify to wear a full-face respirator
